DANCE MUSIC

KAM sponsored the DJ Café at this year’s London Calling where delegates could relax, meet and do business.
At London Calling 2008, delegates could find independent dance labels. The UK is, of course, famed for its independent scene, and the Pavilion is where you could find the cream of it, from labels and publishers to artist management.
Sponsored by AIM.

UK or International VIP Delegates had access to the AIM UK Pavilion and the UK Trade & Investment International Pavillion where delegates could be based to have
meetings, use of a shared business centre, WiFi, early access to the delegate database to prearrange meetings, listing and profile on the website and in the official event guide and priority access to the London Calling speed dating events. Independent dance labels hosted their meetings in the Dance Community area of the AIM UK Pavilion sponsored by DJ Download.

Chinese Music Industry Reception:

A must attend session for any delegates who wished to access the Chinese music market. London Calling delegates had the opportunity to meet and network with over 60 Chinese delegates and watch a fascinating presentation, led by Mr. Zhu Qi Hui, Vice Director of Administrative Department of Audio & Video and Internet Publication in General Administration on Press and Publication of People's Republic of China, (pic attached) on the current state of the Chinese music industry and the opportunities it offers.

Pan-Caribbean Music Industry Reception:

Hosting delegates from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, the Pan-Caribbean music industry reception gave London Calling delegates the chance to meet and network with representatives from this diverse and exciting region and to discover the opportunities it has to offer at a music market presentation on the Caribbean music industry.

Nigerian Music Industry Reception:

At the Nigerian reception at London Calling 2008, delegates were able to meet and network with the delegates from across all sectors of the Nigerian music industry. At London Calling 2008, delegates discovered how the Nigerian music market works and the opportunities it presents for international music companies to do business at a music market presentation, hosted by British Council International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 Award winner, Audu Maikori from Chocolate City Ltd.
